The saddest part of lunchtime is the students who have no one to sit with. For some, their friends don't eat their lunch period, but for others they have no friends at all. Those are often the teens that are also bullied. In my school, our commons area is right outside the cafeteria, and many students eat in the commons in their groups. However, the loner students sit in corners of the area, cowering so no one will see them. They try to become invisible. My light bulb moment about the turmoil for some teens during lunch occurred when I found a girl eating her lunch in the restroom in order to avoid eating alone.
